There are some days I just don't want to run.
Like today.
I have been cursing Eve since I woke up... damn the cramping. And then of course Pinterest romanticizes running and says that running when you feel like crap will actually make me feel better.
Lies!!!
So now I am laying on my couch trying to regain my normal self. Some days I hate being a girl.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a 5 mile day... but we might just have to wait one more week.

Getting Used to Things
Another day of running today. I am up to 3.25 miles. I have also started running for much longer periods of time. Today I ran a whole mile nonstop.
This is huge for me.
It wasn't fast... but hey! I was moving!
I am starting to get use to this running thing. I mentioned to my sister that before when I was doing another program, every time I got onto the treadmill, I was plagued with shin splints and pain. But now, nothing! I get a nice burn after a mile... but I can do it!
I think I'm getting used to this.
Tomorrow is just 2 miles, but then Saturday will be my longest run yet at 4 miles. :)

Weigh In
Today is the first official weigh in.
I lost this week! Down 4.7 lbs!
I am continuing with my running although I now have a pain in my heel. I think it's from my choice of shoes, but it still makes for a great excuse to ask for a foot rub!
I feel great otherwise! Continuing my 2 miles a day. :)
I remember how I only ran 3 miles in all of my high school career. I actually took 3 years of marching band to keep from having to run miles.
True Story.
But I was in much better shape in high school. And somehow believed my daily lunch of a coke and rice crispy bar was a good choice. Hey... sometimes I chose chick-fil-a. And sometimes I ate sugar cookies for breakfast.
And I'd kill to be as small as I was when I thought I was fat then.

Day 2
Yesterday I took a break so that I could rest what I thought would be sore muscles and take my kiddos to the park. Overall, I walked about a mile... so I ended a mile short of my daily goal (should have just ran 2) but I thoroughly enjoyed the boys playing at the splash pad at the zoo. It was much needed mommy/son time!
Today I was back in the saddle with those same kiddos in tow. I dropped them off at the children's play zone (which left so much to be desired... ugh) and went for my run.
Today I had a little better stats. And I also want to add that I just realized that the totals include my cool down... which kind of throws off my averages. So... 5 minutes of this time goes to cool down, as does anything over 2 miles.
Total Time: 37:01
Distance: 2.20 Miles
Average Speed 3.57 MPH
Average Pace 16:46/Mile
See! I did better!!
The plan is to continue to do the two miles/day until Tuesday and then move over to the regular schedule. Otherwise I would have been running 4 miles today and frankly that sounded like it would suck monkey balls.
I also need to find some great playlists for my run. Right now I have one that I found on Oxygen.com that I actually set up for an hour of spinning... but I need some more variety.

Running
I went to the gym today for what seems like the first time in forever. I used to belong to a great gym. Huge facilities, awesome classes (that were always full of people) and affordable child care. Today, I went on a 3 month trial (through a fundraiser) to a gym literally a stones throw away. I could should have walked there.
The facilities were nice. Newer equipment. But it felt like there wasn't any air in the room. Ok, so it also rained like crazy and this Arizona girl isn't used to the humidity, but still. Sticky was an understatement. The rates aren't too bad normally. But the childcare is going to cost me more than the membership itself. Gah! And now I remember why I quit going before. Plus, there aren't any kids there anyway. The last gym had TONS of children all the time.
Anyway... regardless of what the gym was like, I was really only there for one reason and one reason only.
Treadmills.
I have a great spin cycle right in my living room, so I can spin anytime I want. I have a Kinect I plan on using for a few fitness games. I have a few sets of hand weights. I am set. But I hate to run. Seriously.
These are seriously my thoughts:
But you know what? I ran anyway.
It took me way too long... but I did it.
Time: 42:45
Distance: 2.16 miles
Average Speed 3.03 mph
Average Pace 19:46/mile
It will be interesting to see how that changes over time!
I am using a couch to 13.1 plan I found on Fitness.com. I was supposed to start on Monday with cardio and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday run, Friday rest, etc. But I started today. So we will just do this week as scheduled and then repeat it for next week. We'll see how well I get before my 3 months is over. I doubt I want to renew for a real membership at the gym. But by then, it might be cool enough to run outside.
Overall, feeling good. I am down a few lbs, but will weigh in on Tuesday. :)

Starting
Hi. I am just getting this thing started so who knows what will actually happen with it.
I am turning 29 this year... so this is my goal: to reach my goal weight of 135lbs by my 30th birthday. And I have a ways to go!
Current stats:
Weight: 200 lbs
Height 5ft 5 inches
Bra Size 38D
Pant Size 14
Things are getting snug and I refuse to buy new clothes... unless they are smaller!
I will be doing a couch to 13.1 training, although I haven't run a single mile since Bush Senior was in office! I also wear a fitbit daily and weigh in daily as well. I'll post my daily progress in the form of steps per day and lbs weighed.
Here are some pictures that made me wake up.
Bleh!! I am so ready for a new start!
Welcome!
